To start off, I’d like to tell you a little more about myself. I’m a busy mom of three beautiful kids, ages 11, 9 and 4 years old. They are VERY active and creative, and I get a lot of my inspiration from them. My husband is a sweetheart who puts up with my “hobbies” and crazy ideas. I love to write stories and poems, and read novels (mostly fiction), and I just dived into the world of Audio books. Whew! A person can so easily get lost in there. I’ve already put several books on hold through my library lending system. I’ll share more about that in another post.
I also like to take walks and go hiking in the nearby park. Where we live, there are lots of hiking, biking and walking trails and outdoors adventures everywhere. If I had the time, I’d go to my favorite park to write and soak in the peacefulness of nature.
Some of my favorite things are… Popcorn and Peanut M&Ms candy, sappy romantic movies and intense dramas, curling up with a scary mystery novel, rabbits, cats and our family’s sweet Boston Terrier, the colors Blue, Green and Purple, sunsets in the Northwest, People who are REAL and authentic, and not afraid to speak their minds.
Here’s the first poem I’d like to share with you. I wrote it several years ago for a creative writing class. It has always been one of my favorites.
Bring forth the life in the music
Don’t put away the feelings that you have,
the count and the repeat, mind the voice
and be thankful.
Come see the sound, my darling, for
rare chimes you will hear. One or many
Beloved cellos playing down inside.
Does this poem speak to you? What do you think it’s saying? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Until next time… KEEP IT REAL!
